Our Backgrounds

Our Inspiration

Inspired by St.Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805-71), a visionary and social reformer of divine caliber from Kerala in 18th century, the members of the congregation is carrying the visionary legacy of our patron for the last two decades. His wholistic social reformation was based on education. He believed that, unless and until our minds and mentalities are not transformed with knowledge and wisdom, the society will remain as a static and stagnant entity.Hence the best tool for any positive social change and social upliftment is education. Taking inspiration from this great visionary, the congregation at present is serving in the elementary, and higher education levels with more than 650 schools, 30 colleges and other varied educational institutions in India for educating socially useful citizens with a strong conviction that each one is a precious gift of God.

Our Commitment

The CMI Missionary Fathers from Kerala (St.Joseph's Province, Trivandrum) invest their best, for the excellent formation of the next generation, as our contribution to the national development. Through our educational institutions we respond to the National need to prepare our youth to be socially responsible, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually integrated. We have been nurturing them with our rich experience in education from the past 190 years by upholding the age old spiritual traditions of India. We aspire towards creating a just and humane society where dignity of a person is respected, unjust social structures are challenged, our cultural heritage of ahimsa, secularism, religious harmony and national integration are upheld and where the poor and marginalized are specially attended to.

Our Motto

Everyone has received a Divine Call to devote oneself for the welfare of the society. (Jeremiah 1:10). Based on this ideal K.E.Carmel Group of Schools has its motto: "TO PLANT AND NURTURE". Education is a process in which teachers, parents and students work together to have the delicate seed of divine wisdom planted in the young minds and to nurture its spontaneous growth by providing an appropriate atmosphere of concentration, dedication and hard work. To educate is not merely to develop and improve an individual but to influence the family and society of which one is a member. It is his or her divine call to work towards the creation of a New Heaven and Earth by spreading happiness, peace, joy and love around. We develop Hands to help, Lips to smile and Words to cheer up others.

Our mission is to, aim at an education by which, character is formed, strength of mind increased, intellect expanded and one can stand on one's own feet with a conviction that everyone is a precious gift of God. Hence, K.E. Carmel nurtures the little minds to become:Intellectually competent, spiritually mature, morally upright, psychologically integrated, physically healthy and socially acceptable.

Being aware that educational process is the most important human resource development, we open our institutions to all, irrespective of sex, caste, colour or faith. For the integral development of our students we organize various curricular and co-curricular activities.
